With support from the National Science Foundation we will offer the first Girls in Icy Fjords Expeditions in the summer of 2017! This new program will take us to a fjord in Prince William Sound. By kayak and crampons, the girls will explore and learn about the important connection between glaciers and oceans. The different shades of blue, white and grey, the sounds of cracking ice and the merging alpine and maritime smells will provide a perfect playground to improve scientific observational skills, get a close look at a quickly changing environment, reflect thoughts and senses in drawings, become more self confident in unknown territory, and build friendships for a lifetime.
